Steadman, Ralph (b.1936), 'Freud Being Met in Paris', Screenprint, 1979.

Printer's proof, aside from the edition of 98, signed by the artist in pencil. Printed at the White Ink Studio on Somerset Waterleaf handmade paper, and published by the artist in 1979.

From Steadman's 'Sigmund Freud Portfolio' which included 7 screenprints. This screenprint depicts Freud being met in Paris by Marie-Bonaparte and William Bullit, the American Ambassador, after fleeing Vienna with his family in June 1938, three months after the Nazi invasion of Austria.

Provenance: Private collection of Cliff White - master printer and a director of the White Ink Studio in London.
