One of a group of works included in House's solo show of paintings held at the Waddington Galleries in London, 2nd - 22nd October 1979.
Gordon house wrote that the source for the title, 'Stone Gothic', was 'that rich world of Gothic revival; books, objects and places'.
This painting relates to House's lithograph 'Gothic Blue' (cat.116) and his etching 'Gothic Green' (cat.117) both from 1978-79.
