Edition of 70. Published by Marlborough. From the ‘Clear, Coloured and Neutrals’ portfolio of 12 vinyl sheets.
House wrote of this series ‘The following boxed edition of rigid vacuum formed vinyl sheets was indirectly the result of having worked in my earlier years in the then developing plastic industry. The appearance and excitement of man-made materials available to everyone, including the artist, provoked the need to make aesthetic decorative in their own right without other usage. At this time I was engaged by a music recording company designing album covers to contain the plastic record disc known to all before video. The idea was to combine these familiarities to make a totally non-playing visual and personal art package.’
The grooves in the vinyl are intended to be a play on the grooves in a record.
