"These screenprints were adapted from drawings Knowles originally made as preparatory studies for his sculpture, but which he also considers separate works. The source drawings were made of geometrical shapes cut from brightly coloured paper collaged onto graph paper in a variety of arrangements. 'S.157.01' consists of nine isosceles right angle triangles outlined in black ink, arranged in three rows of three forms in such a way that identical triangles are formed in the spaces between them. The composition is closely related to 'S.157.01'." - quotation Tate
